STEVEN A ROSEBORO - THE GOLDEN AGE OF BASKETBALL
From 1981 to 1990 I had the tremendous good fortune to combine two of my passions, Photography and Basketball; I covered the NBA for Magazines in Italy, Spain and England as fans all over the world couldn’t get enough of Magic, Bird, Kareem, The Doctor, The Iceman, Isiah, McHale, Parish, Dominique, Bernard, Big Game James, a young Jordan, and a host of new Stars such as Akeem Olajuwon, Charles Barkley, Patrick Ewing, Karl Malone, and John Stockton. I had the best seat in the house on the floor of the Fabulous Forum, with a birds-eye view of Laker Showtime, Celtic Pride, The Doctor’s Housecalls and the Bad Boys from the Motor City. No look passes and Sky Hooks, floor burns and Coop-a-Loops. 23 years after my retirement from Sports Photography, I included over 500 of these images in my two-volume Book “The Golden Age of Basketball: The NBA in the Decade of the Eighties”. I am excited to release my Archives for public consumption. I hope you will enjoy the site and hopefully find an image you would like to collect or display. It has given me great joy over the past 3 years returning to those timeless moments of this unforgettable era through each image in preparation for my book, the Golden Age of Basketball Website and now finally this Archival Collection. Thanks again to everyone for your tremendous support and good wishes!.
